Here we go again.....

As parents have been getting their children ready for tomorrow, I too have been getting ready. After I worked my grave Friday night, I slept Saturday morning and then went grocery shopping to stock up on all types of food I can eat while I at work. I cleaned my house and put away my tower of clothes that have yet to be hung for months, yes I am a bit embarrassed about that. Today has been spent cooking all sorts of things and putting them in individual servings in my freezer so that I can just grab and run for the next week.

I've even contemplated figuring out what to wear tomorrow that will be conducive for the first day of teaching the kids and for traveling on the train to go to my first class of the semester. As I was thinking about the various appropriate shoes and such I laughed thinking I was just like myself when I was in junior high, planning out what to wear to the first day of school. It was always such a production; calling my best friend G and asking her what she'd wear, planning on where we'd meet to walk to school together. And here I am how many years later contemplating the same thing, except I work in a school so I drive myself there and I meet my friend Rossi at the Trax because I'd rather die than attempt walking to the U of U!

I'm stressed as usual about starting everything back up again. This semester my classes are extremely intense and I'm of course wondering if I'll be able to do it all. With each semester, the classes seem harder and harder. I can only imagine what my last semester, winter, will be like! Oh well, at least I have my great friends in the program with me that help me survive my breakdowns I'm bound to have. They are the best as they do a really good job of not freaking out on me while I'm crying in class :)

As the day draws to a close I'm hoping I can fall asleep before midnight as getting up at 5:00 am is going to kick my butt! I still don't know what I'm doing with my students tomorrow as I've only figured out the first 10 minutes of class. After that, we'll have to see. I wonder how long I can push a 'get to know your neighbor' game. Maybe 20 minutes? Oh, and I have to co-teach with a SpEd teacher and I'm a bit irritated about that as he wants my lesson plans week to week and with my life I usually plan them the morning of. He may hurt me or vice versa as I just don't have time!

My goal is to think of April of next year; I'll be done with grad school and will hopefully have new options in life. Well, wait, my goal before that is to make it to the last week of October as I go on my Mexican Riviera cruise then! Sunday to a Sunday I'll be on a boat, vegging and seeing the lovely sights of Puerta Vallarta, Cabo San Lucas and Mazatlan. I guess I can handle the first day of work and school when I have that to look forward to.

Just remember, as you try to deal with those really obnoxious kids - I'll be seeing them in a year or two, and unlike you, I don't have them only in one grade.....Smile, and I'll see ya at Traxxxxxxx sometime around 3

I made my students write articles about each other. Boom. There goes the first day.

I have a calendar if you need to get busy mapping out your weekly lesson plans.

Hahahahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahahaha.
