The list of 25 from Facebook

Okay, I give, here's my list (and it's also published on FB) as I'm not feeling witty, or entertaining enough to write about anything going on. I'm too busy avoiding homework as usual.

1. I can't stand being hot unless I'm in a swimsuit by a pool or the ocean. I wear too many clothes to be sweating without being able to cool off.

2. I cannot spell things orally; I have to write them down (yes, I'm an English teacher).

3. I used to read by the light from the hallway at night and swear that's the reason I was practically blind by the 3rd grade. I had the thickest glasses ever!

4. I have since had lasik surgery on my eyes and think it was the best money I've ever spent. Yes, I still use eye drops, but no more contacts or hideous glasses for me!

5. I have never introduced myself as anything but by my real name, but for some reason people will refer to me as 'Jo'; even strangers. It's a bit disconcerting.

6. I love, love, love massages and would get one every month if I could. Instead, I get them about every 3-4 months.

7. I'm going to grad school because I figured, why not? Now that it's near the end I'm thinking I should have found something else to do.

8. I can count on my hands and feet how many people I've kissed, and yes, I'm 33. A bit sad, I know.

9. I had a guy tell me he couldn't date me because I didn't know how to ballroom dance. Seriously.

10. I slapped a kid in my 12th grade math class b/c he wouldn't stop poking me in the back. The teacher told him to sit down before I bitch slapped him again. I never got in trouble for it! :)

11. I swear more now as a teacher than I ever did in high school or college.

12. I feel a really weird connection to Hawaii when I'm there, and I've only been there twice. If I could afford it, I'd go every year for a month.

13. My favorite movie of all time is 'Reluctante Debutante' and hardly anyone knows what it is.

14. Previously said movie is the reason I am obsessed with Capri, Italy and am saving to go there when I'm 35.

15. I've walked out of three movies before for thinking they were 'inappropriate' for my viewing. Of course, those three movies happen to be the favorite movies of most of my guy friends.

16. Sheesh, this is hard. I don't watch movies with animals that may or may not get hurt. I couldn't take the kids I nannied to the "Land Before Time" movies as I was afraid I'd cry in the theater.

17. I've written a book that I've never shared with anyone and probably never will. I guess when I die someone may or may not find it.

18. I get a bit bugged by people when they find out my profession and they say 'Oh, you must be a special person to deal with junior high kids'. It's not that big of a deal people; you've had teenagers; just b/c they are punks to you doesn't mean they will be to me, and if they are, that' s what detention and the front office is for.

19. I am slightly, just a tad, sarcastic. Oh, and maybe a bit blunt.

20. When I was in college I wrote my essays, my very long essays, always the night before they were due. Most of the time they were finished an hour before class and usually weren't proofread.

21. When I was on swim team, all through high school, my daily breakfast consisted of grape juice, wheat toast with jam and strawberry yogurt. I have a hard time with yogurt to this day.

22. I love my condo but wish I could afford to sell it and move in to a townhouse. I really want a dog.

23. I think I care more about others than they care about me so I tend to get my feelings hurt more than necessary. I think it's also b/c I'm a worrier.

24. I feel like shouting it from the rooftop, but this will have to do. I have worked a full time job and a part time job while getting my Masters and I will be graduating in May with honors. Yeah me.

25. I felt really cool when I ran in to former students at an LDS Singles Conference. They were my first set of students and were getting ready to serve LDS missions. Favorite question/statement from them: You're still not married!?!
