Yes, I am planning on going to Greece.
Yes, I am probably going by myself.
Why? so many people have asked.
Most of my friends are married. The single ones either don't really want to go to Greece, don't have the money, (which I don't either, but hello, who does) or just don't seem keen on the idea.
I don't have any sisters to travel with.
No, I couldn't turn it in to a mother/daughter trip. We will never do a trip together, let alone to Greece. (Not to us not getting along; due to her not leaving her husband).
It's really not that big a deal to travel alone; people do it all the time. Yes, this will be a first for me to travel alone to another country, but it's not like I'm 5'0'' and weigh 80 pounds.
Pretty sure I'll be okay; if not, oh well.
Plus, how can one focus on it MAYBE being dangerous when I get to see sights such as this:

I am so jealous. Ever since I saw sisterhood of the traveling pants, I've wanted to go there. So beautiful. I hope you have a blast!
Good for you! I loved Mama Mia and think Greece would be amazing! I think traveling alone would be so relaxing and rewarding.. it shows true confidence to go alone! You go girl!
You'll have a great time and meet fabulous people! I travel by myself all the time and, at times, I enjoy it better than traveling with others.
Have a fabulous trip!
Empowerment. Hooray!
I'd be all over that trip with you if I could! I'll be there in spirit!
I've traveled alone to Russia, Scotland, and England. The same basic safety rules apply to a woman traveling alone as to anyone traveling. If you're a smart traveler, you're unlikely to have safety issues. I'm sure you'll be fine.
Besides, traveling alone means you don't get dragged into shops you couldn't care less about or get stuck at a cafe when you'd rather be hiking about. You can pick your own schedule (unless you're on a tour....).
Greece looks wonderful. I hope you have a great time.
(sigh) if only. xox
