Love it when old students, or even current students, try to add me as a 'friend' and then are insulted or offended when I send them a message stating I am not 'friends' with students on any public forum.
I have said it before and I will say it again: I am NOT going to make the news for any reason other than going down in a blaze of glory (i.e. taking a bullet for a student, saving a student from a burning building, things of that nature) on behalf of a student. There will be ZERO connection to a student other than saving their lives.
Sorry peeps. I think you are all fabulous the year I teach you. However, honestly, I tend to forget names the second the school year is over. My brain apparently can't retain more than 200 names at a time so it has to rest during the summer to get geared up for the next group.
So, Facebook is fabulous to find my own personal friends, immediate and from the past (high school and college) but unless you are a student I had my very first year of teaching, you can stop holding your breath to see if we'll be 'friends'.
I don't want to be responsible for you passing out.
