So, after a couple of rescheduling, we got together today. Lunch was great, the house is gorgeous and the best part was the photo shoot. Imagine a 9-year-old and a 7-year-old taking pictures of the two of us, trying to get a 'good' one that doesn't have us looking horrid (well ME looking horrid), or fingers in front of the lens. Her boys did a great job and Mitch and I ended up laughing pretty hard as I think about 50 pics were taken in about 3 minutes :)
Mitch is as lovely as ever, an amazing mother and still the best friend a girl could have. We've been friends since 9th grade and as we talked about a few memories from high school, it made me realize how grateful I am to have had her by my side through those horrid years, and to continue to have her by my side, even if it's only every couple of years. She was the friend I hung out with the most, the one who I studied for the AP English test with, had many 'sluff' days with, late night cruising, discussion of crushes (although Mitch always had the dates/boyfriends and I only had the crushes) and the first friend I phoned when my father died. I don't think she'll ever know how often I look back at her support during that tough time of August 1994 and that first year of college where more partying and cooking brownies took place then actual studying.
Thanks Mitch for always being there and for agreeing in advance to have your kids babysit my kids, even if your kids are in their 20's. :)

That's so sweet! I really enjoyed catching up as well. . . and I still remember that phone call in August of '94. =( That was one of those things we couldn't fix with fat free brownies.
