I set a goal!

I don't set goals, really I don't.  My pessimistic attitude has always been 'Why?'  If you accomplish them, okay, and if you don't, who cares.

Well, in order to not roll myself into a ball and never face reality, I set a goal. Shocker, I know.  My current, and probably only, goal is to not be idle.  Isn't there some saying that says idleness if of the devil?

Well, damn the devil; I will not be idle.

In order to keep my goal, I have decided to paint my bedroom.  I bought my condo almost five years ago, and went to town painting the entire place.  The bedroom was painted with a gray/lavendar accent wall, with the other three a soft tan.  I've loved my room, loved the colors, but feel the need for a change.

So....I am painting all four walls a soft yellow; 'Provence Cream' to be exact.

I have, so far, done the lavendar wall, one coat, as it takes a lot of yellow (even thought it's been mixed with a primer) to color the gray/purple. Oh, and I started this project around 1:00pm today.

In true J fashion, any project/event/activity wouldn't be complete without me falling.

Yes, I fell.

While I was on the step-ladder, holding a bowl of paint in one hand and the small brush in the other, I raised my right arm to paint along the tape by the ceiling, and all of a sudden, I fell.  Not sure why, not sure what happened that the step ladder, and my body, felt the need to fall sideways, but we did.

I now have a tweaked back, again; paint splatter EVERYWHERE (the splatter on the clothing and drop cloth is my favorite); and a divet (a.k.a. hole) in my wall from the lovely step-ladder.

I think I'm done painting for today.  At this rate, it may be done by the time I start my second Master's program.

Thank all for Advil, for 'paint clothes' and water based paint.

Now I have to figure out how in the world one fixes a divet.

Spackle - that's how you fix a divet! Um, so when are you planning a trip to NC?? I think you should get right on that so as to avoid idleness. Or is it idolatry, no, that's something else all together. You make me laugh! EM
